Debateresults -- 5 minutes' worth of things to check.

There are have been some changes to debateresults.com lately that you should attend to, plus some features you should be using to maximize the site. 10 minutes of setup now should save loads of time later. Please take a quick read and update your account as need be.

1) NDT and CEDA regions have been updated, but your school may still be associated with the old region. Visit the "edit your account" link in the top left-hand portion of the main debateresults page and enter the correct regions for your school.

2) Email: There is now an email link in the top-left-hand box. You can enter your student and judge email and cell information. This can serve as a way to maintain and manage contact info for your squad. It also allows you to communicate with your NDT district, so you won't need a separate list for that. Finally, information here integrates with the CAT, allowing your people to receive tournament text messages and emails.

3) Master Prefs functions, also in the top-left, allows you to keep a running ordinal ranking of judges. You can upload ratings from prior tournaments and edit as you see fit. This will save loads of time ordinally ranking for each tournament.

4) If you have attended a tournament using the CAT and on-line ballot entry, judge comments may have been entered on-line. They can be viewed if you log in to your school account and click the link in the lower-right-hand box.

5) The new tournament software, the CAT, is available for download and comes complete with an instructional manual, sample data, instructional videos, and a quick start guide. Some of the documention is now dated (after only 3 months), but the CAT page is the place to go for all updates and information about the status of the CAT development.

6) If you are directing a tournament, there is a new page (off of the "view entrant information" link on the Director's Page) that allows you to email tournament participants (judges and debaters) and also lists cell phone information.

Finally, you are reminded to update your judge conflicts page regularly. A judge who has been hired may be listed as a conflict for a tournament, and you will need to remove that conflict on your own.

Thanks to all, and congrats to Gordon and Jeff on the new CEDA pages.
